_ LET US COMMIT OURSELVES TO GOD’S CAPABLE HANDS IN PRAYERS
As calendars turn to a new year, many will seek a fresh start with new goals and resolutions. For believers, the new year is a great time to seek the Lord’s guidance and to pray for deeper faith.
It is also a good time to pray for our hearts to be more aligned with God’s purposes.
One way to do that is to focus our prayers on what God desires—for people from every tribe and nation to know and worship Him.
PRAYER TO KEEP GOD FIRST THIS NEW YEAR
Matthew 6:33 AMP “ instruct us “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.”
Dear God, Thank you that you make all things new.
Thank you for all that you’ve allowed into our lives this past year, the good and the hard things that have reminded us how much we need you and rely on your presence filling us every day.
We pray for your Spirit to lead us each step of this New Year. We ask that you will guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire you above all else.
Put a passion in us to seek You through studying and meditating on Your Word on a daily basis.
Lord, help us to seek Your face in regular prayers to Your throne of grace.
We ask that you open the doors that need to be opened and close the ones that need to be shut tight.
We ask that you help us release our grip on the things to which you’ve said “no,” “not yet,” or “wait.” We ask for help to pursue you first, above every dream and desire you’ve put within our hearts.
PRAYER OF GRATITUDE
1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “… give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Thank you for your faithfulness, your love, and your constant presence in our lives. We acknowledge your sovereignty over the days gone by and the days yet to come.
Thank You for the ways You have worked in our lives in the past year.
Thank You for being our shelter and protection for us and our loved ones.
Through the ups and downs of life, You have never left us.
I also thank You for the ways You have pursued us with Your love. Your love for all of us is incomparable.
Lord, we desire to show our gratitude by telling others what you have done in our lives.
Help us to carry this spirit of gratitude wherever you lead us. Amen.
PRAYER FOR DISCERNMENT IN THE COMING YEAR
James 1:5 tells us “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
God, please grant us wisdom in the new year.
Help us to discern where You are leading and what opportunities you have placed in front of us.
Give us eyes to see those who You have set before us to share Your love and truth.
Guide our steps as we seek to shine Your light wherever we go.
PRAYER FOR ENDURANCE IN THE COMING YEAR
Galatians 6:9 says “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Father, give us the strength to persevere this year.
When the work feels overwhelming or fruitless, remind us of Your promises.
Help us to remain steadfast, trusting that You are bringing about a harvest in Your time.
Encourage our hearts and renew our spirits daily with the strength you pour out on us.
PRAYER FOR OBEDIENCE
Matthew 28:19-20 encourages us “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’”
Lord, give us the resolve to respond faithfully to Your Great Commission.
Show us practically how we can participate in this mission in 2025.
Open doors for us to go to the ends of the Earth or guide us in how to support those who are on the front lines of the mission field.
Help us to choose to obey you and do Your will in every aspects of our Christian walk.
Thank You for giving us “The Comforter’s Room” community
Lord, work through us on “The Comforter’s Room “ so Your gospel reaches all nations and those who are hurting.
PRAYER OF PROTECTION FROM THE EVIL ONE
Psalms 46:1 AMP declares “God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.”
Jehovah God, You, Lord are a mighty man in battle.
Lord we ask that You shield us and our loved ones from the attacks of Satan and his cohorts. Put them to shame as You give us victory over them.
By Your power, no weapons formed against us and The Comforter’s Room community shall prosper.
Lord demolish every stronghold erected in our lives by the enemy of our souls.
PRAYER FOR HEALING
God says in Jeremiah 30:17 AMP “For I will restore health to you And I will heal your wounds,’ says the Lord, ‘Because they have called you an outcast, saying: “This is Zion; no one seeks her and no one cares for her.”
Lord Jesus, You are our Healer, you have the power to heal all our brokenness and deceases.
Heal those among us who are hurting from illnesses and or brokenness.
Father, bind up our wounds and heal US as only You can.
Thank you Lord for answering our prayers for this New Year.
