Throughout this week’s daily devotionals, we will explore what pleases God in the life of the believer in Christ.
The intent is that we will all have some understanding of what pleases God so that we can align our lives to His desires with the help of His Holy Spirit.
The Lord is pleased when we put our faith in Him.
Hebrews 11:6 AMP tells us…
“But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.”
God delights in those who are humble in spirit.
Isaiah 66:2 AMP tells us…
“For all these things My hand has made, So all these things came into being [by and for Me],” declares the Lord. “But to this one I will look [graciously], To him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who [reverently] trembles at My word and honors My commands. [John 4:24]”
Obedience is greater than sacrifice and pleases the Lord deeply.
1 Samuel 15:22 AMP tells us…
“Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obedience to the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed [is better] than the fat of rams.”
A thankful heart in all things brings God joy.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 AMP says…
“in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”
God is pleased with a broken and contrite heart.
Psalms 51:17 AMP tells us…
“My [only] sacrifice [acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; A broken and contrite heart [broken with sorrow for sin, thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise.”
Let us meditate on these behaviors that pleases God. We will continue tomorrow.
