The Promise And Prayer Of Restoration – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi

The Bible presents the promise of restoration as God’s commitment to heal, renew, and redeem what was broken, lost, or ruined.

Biblical Restoration encompasses:

📌Restoring our personal souls when we are weary and tired.

Psalms 23:3 AMP tells us…

“He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

Physical and Spiritual Renewal: The Bible speaks of repairing ruin and bringing back the “fortunes” of His people, referring to total well-being, both physically and spiritually (Amos 9:14, Ezekiel 36:24).

📌Reversing the effects of sin in our lives (Joel 2:25, Psalm 51:12),

Restoration of Lost Years and Joy: God promises to restore the years consumed by “locusts” (loss, mistakes) and bring back the joy of salvation

“And I will compensate you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust, and the gnawing locust— My great army which I sent among you.”Joel 2:25 AMP

“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.” Psalms 51:12 AMP

📌Healing physical/emotional wounds (Jeremiah 30:17, 1 Peter 5:10),

Healing and Strengthening: After times of suffering, God promises to restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish believers.

Jeremiah 30:17 AMP tells us…

“For I will restore health to you And I will heal your wounds,’ says the Lord, ‘Because they have called you an outcast, saying: “This is Zion; no one seeks her and no one cares for her.””

And 1 Peter 5:10 AMP tells us…

“After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be].”

📌God is the ultimate renewal of all creation (Acts 3:21).

Ultimate Restoration (New Heaven/Earth): The ultimate fulfillment of restoration is found in Revelation, where God makes all things new, promising no more death, pain, or mourning (Read Revelation 21:1-4).

📌Repentance as a Key that moves God to restore us

Restoration often follows a return to God, where He promises to heal the land for those who humble themselves and seek Him (Read 2 Chronicles 7:14).

🔥NOW LET US PRAY FOR RESTORATION (Pray Along)

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of faith, gratitude, and expectation.

Your Word declares in Joel 2:25 that You are the God who restores the years the locust has eaten. I stand on that promise today, knowing that nothing lost, broken, delayed, or stolen is beyond Your power to redeem.

Lord, You see every season of my life. You know the years marked by struggle, disappointment, grief, and waiting.

Father, You saw what was taken from me through hardship, betrayal, missteps, and spiritual battles. Yet You also declare that loss does not get the final word. You do.

Father, I ask You now to restore…

👉🏾Restore my joy where heaviness once lived.

👉🏾Restore my peace where anxiety ruled.

👉🏾Restore my confidence where discouragement tried to settle.

👉🏾Restore my faith where weariness tried to weaken it. Let what was once barren become fruitful again by Your hand.

👉🏾Redeem the time, Lord. What I could not recover on my own, redeem by Your grace.

What the enemy meant for destruction, Lord, turn into testimony.

Let my latter days be marked by abundance, clarity, and purpose far greater than what was lost.

I thank You that restoration in You is never partial.

You restore completely, intentionally, and with compassion.

You do not rush the process, and You do not forget the pain. You transform it. You heal it. You use it.

Thank You for loving me this way, to restore any and all things that the enemy has stolen from me, known or unknown.

Be glorified in the process of my restoration, Holy Spirit.

Abide with us at all times today, Lord Jesus.

In Jesus Christ’s most powerful name I have prayed. Amen 🙏🏾

Have a blessed day ❤️
