Worrying has become an epidemic in our world even amongst believers in Christ. Worry can feel productive; it’s as though thinking and rethinking through the situation will change it.
The truth though is that worry only changes our stress level.
God cares for us and knows the situation we are facing. We must trust and rest in Him; He promised to take care of us. We are told in Matthew 6: 27,30 that…
“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?.. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you?”
Sometimes, it’s hard for some among us to make ends meet, not sure where our next meal will come from. The Word of God in Matthew 6:25-32 tells us that we must not worry…
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.”
LET US PRAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for being a God who cares for us. Thank You for Your faithfulness in providing for all of our needs. Thank You for giving us hope instead of worry. Lord, give us the grace to trust You to take care of us as You have promised. Abide with us Holy Spirit and shield us from all evils. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen
Have a blessed day
