𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭.
It is a matter of obedience for believers in Christ.
Deuteronomy 6:5-6 AMP tells us of this commands:
”You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being]. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind.”
𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞.
1 John 4:19 AMP declares:
”We love, because He first loved us.”
It is the effectual love of God that first changes our hearts in order to make us capable of love, and it is His example of love that reminds us again and again of our need to love other people.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐦.
Psalm 116:1-9 gives us quie a few reasons to love the Lord.
I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the LORD: “LORD, save me!”
The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.
The LORD protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me.
Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
For you, LORD, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before the LORDin the land of the living.
𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞.
Romans 2:4 NIV
”Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?”

Psalms 89:34-35 AMP
”My covenant I will not violate, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips. “Once [for all] I have sworn by My holiness, [My vow which cannot be violated]; I will not lie to David.”

Romans 5:8 AMP
”But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐇𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐄𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟑𝟐).
Ephesians 4:32 AMP
”Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.”
𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡.
John 3:16 AMP declares:
”For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
This verse emphasizes the depth of God’s love and His gift of salvation through Jesus, leading to love and thankfulness.
In summary: Love for the Lord stems from His own initiating love, His deliverance and help in our lives, His perfect nature and character, and His ultimate sacrifice for redemption.

Mighty God, King of glory, thank You for yet another day of life.
Thank You for Your Love that endures forever.
Lord, we praise Your Holy name for Your example of love which enables us to love and obey You and love one another.
Thank You Lord, for the gift of salvation and eternal life.
In Your love, Jesus, protect each one of us and our loved ones from any and all evil thrown at us by the enemy of our souls.
Abide with us in our going in and going out.
