Matthew 16:24-25 tells us
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me]. For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity].
Jesus walks with us. The question is are you walking with Him seven days a week, and not just on Sunday mornings? Hopefully, you understand the wisdom of walking with Christ all day every day.
One of my favorite classic Christian writers, Hannah Whitall Smith spoke to believers of every generation when she advised, “Keep your face upturned to Christ as the flowers do to the sun. Look, and your soul shall live and grow.” That’s powerful advice. When we turn our hearts to Jesus, we receive His blessings, His peace, and His grace.
Today is filled with countless opportunities to serve God and to follow in the footsteps of His Son. When you do, your heavenly Father will guide your steps and bless your endeavors.
PRAY ALONG
Father, I pray that You help me to seek Your will, I trust Your teachings, and pray to walk in Your footsteps—now and forever.
The crucial question for each of us is this: What do you think of Jesus, and do you yet have a personal acquaintance with Him?
Heavenly Father, You sent Your Son so that I might have abundant life and eternal life, Thank You, Father, for my Savior. In Jesus Mighty name, I pray. Amen Have a blessed day
