Beloved, loving God with all our heart means giving Him our entire being, including our thoughts, desires, and actions, through devoted time, obedience, and selfless love for others.
It involves making God the central purpose of our lives, finding joy in His presence, and reflecting His love by being patient, kind, and forgiving to others.
This love is not just a feeling but is demonstrated through our actions that show our priorities have shifted to align with God’s purposes.
Loving God must be reflected in our actions through:
WHOLEHEARTED DEVOTION (Matthew 22:37)
Giving our “whole being” to God, including our deepest thoughts, desires, and actions, without holding back.
Making God the centerpiece of our lives, shaping our actions and faith after Him.
ACTIVE OBEDIENCE (John 14:15, 1 John 5:3)
Seeing obedience and keeping His commandments not as a burden, but as a natural expression of love for Him.
Demonstrating love through actions like “fearing” God, serving Him, and walking in His ways.
LOVING OTHERS ( Matthew 22:29, 1 John 4:7-8, John 13:35)
Showing love for God through how we treat the people around us. Jesus is our example.
Being patient, kind, forgiving, and putting others first, reflecting sacrificial love leaning on the Holy Spirit to help us do so.
Our family members, coworkers, neighbors, even our enemies should experience God’s love through us, as we depend on the Holy Spirit to empower us to do so.
PRIORITIZING GOD’S PURPOSES (Matthew 6:33)
God’s purposes become our purposes for our lives.
Setting our primary purpose on God’s kingdom rather than
solely on personal goals like career or money.
Seeking first God’s kingdom and righteousness, not out of expectation of reward, but from a desire to know Him.
CONSISTENT TIME AND ATTENTION TO GOD (Psalm 40:8)
We must be in the Word of God in order to know His will and
desires.
We are to dedicate our time to God through prayer and meditating on His Word.
Consistently and attentively spending time with God daily to nurture our love for Him.
NOW LET US PRAY
Most loving God, thank You for loving us so much.
Father, thank You for the example of sacrificial love that You displayed in the personhood of Jesus Christ.
Holy Spirit of the Living God, help us to love like You love.
Empower us with the character traits that will enable to love sacrificially.
Abide with us Lord Jesus at all times.
