We Must Fix Our Eyes On God – In The Middle Of Uncertainties – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi

🌺Beloved, nothing gives a sense of powerlessness than when we are surrounded by the uncertainties in life.

📌Such was the situation for the nation of Judah, whose king at the time was Jehoshaphat.

📌Jehoshaphat and his people were about to face a great enemy, and they were afraid.

📌Armies were on their way to drive them out of the land God had given them, and Jehoshaphat did the only thing he could think to do: he prayed.

📌In his prayer, Jehoshaphat admitted that he and his people were powerless to stop what was coming at them, and they simply did not know what to do.

📒2 Chronicles 20:12 AMP tells us…

⭕️ “O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless against this great multitude which is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.””

📌Haven’t we all, at some point in our lives, prayed a similar prayer?

📌We have all faced a scary situation, an uncertain outcome against what was coming at us. AND WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

📌Hasn’t each of us prayerfully uttered the words, “I don’t know what to do”?

📌The beauty of King Jehoshaphat’s prayer is that, while he and the people of Judah did not know what to do, they did know where to look.

📌They knew that to focus their gaze on the enemy or themselves would have served only to heighten their fear and despair.

📌They knew their only hope was to fix their eyes on God.

📌There will be times in our lives when we feel powerless, fearful, and uncertain as to what to do.

👉🏾An impossible situation

👉🏾A devastating loss

👉🏾A tragedy

👉🏾A diagnosis

📌In those moments, however, we can choose to fix our eyes on the One who can calm any storm, defeat any foe, and lead us through any valley.

📌Just like Jehoshaphat, we’ve experienced times when—on our own—we were powerless and we cry out to God as He commanded.

🔥Father, I fix my eyes on You as You fill me with Your certainty.

NOW LET US PRAY

🔥Father, thank You for loving us enough to fight our battles when we find ourselves in impossible situations.

🔥Holy Spirit, help us to fix our eye on You, instead of our problems

Thank You for the victory that You have won and those that You will win for us , Lord.

🔥Abide with us at all times Lord Jesus, as we abide in You.

🔥In Jesus Christ’s most powerful name I have prayed. Amen 🙏🏾

🪀Read 2 Chronicles 20 this weekend. You will be blessed.
