Beloved, the Bible teaches that victory in Jesus is a gift from God that empowers believers in Christ to overcome sin, death, and the trials of the world through faith in Christ’s finished work.
This victory is not achieved through human effort but is secured by Jesus’ resurrection and is available to believers right now.
The Source of Victory
The New Testament repeatedly identifies Jesus Christ as the sole provider of true victory.
Victory is a Divine Gift:
1 Corinthians 15:57 AMP tells us:
“but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Overcoming the World:
In John 16:33, Jesus says, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world”.
Triumphal Procession: Believers are described as being led by God in a “triumphal procession” in Christ, spreading the knowledge of Him everywhere.
Colossians 2:15 AMP
“When He (Jesus Christ) had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.”
1 John 5:4-5 declares that faith in Jesus overcomes the world. This victory signifies triumph over sin, death, and spiritual forces through Christ’s resurrection.
Romans 8:37 AMP declares…
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].”
Revelation 12:11 AMP tells us…
“And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death.”
2 Corinthians 2:14 AMP
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him.”
These scripture verses emphasize that victory is a gift from God, not achieved by personal strength, and is already secured through Jesus’ finished work on the cross.
Our victory is in how we walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Holy God, thank You for yet another day in life.
Thank You for Your finished work on the cross.
Lord Jesus for giving us victory over Satan and his cohorts.
Abide with us and order our steps according to Your will.
