In life, we experience good, bad and sometimes downright devastating situations. If care is not taken, the enemy of our souls will use negative life experiences as footholds to attack our minds and amplify the negative experiences just to drag us down.
However, we serve a God who takes EVERY negative experience or situations in our lives, and use it to grow us as we surrender the negative experiences to Him. He uses every experience to purify us.
We are told in Romans 8:28 that “And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.”
God is ever so faithful to the promise in the previous verse. However, it is important that we play our part in believing Him that He will do what He promised. He will bring good out of our negative experiences.
We are also encouraged to rejoice in Habakkuk 3:17-19 AMP when our experiences are not as positive as expected.
He said:
Though the fig tree does not blossom And there is no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive fails And the fields produce no food…
Though the flock is cut off from the fold And there are no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]. For the choir director, on my stringed
instruments.”
And 1 Peter 1:6-7 AMP says “In this you rejoice greatly, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, which is much more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested and purified by fire, may be found to result in [your] praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
NOW, LET US PRAY
Gracious God, thank You for today’s blessings. Thank You for Your promise to help us rejoice in any situation. Lord, we thank You that Your joy is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Help us to surrender every situation to You, knowing that it will lead us to rejoice.
Abide with us Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen
Have a blessed day
