~ A biblical perspective
Worship for the believer in Christ can be described in 2 ways.
1. It could be specific acts of worship, such as Praising, Adoring, Expressing reverence for God publicly and privately.
2. It could also be an overall lifestyle of serving and glorifying God and reflecting His glory to others.
We are told in Romans 12:1 AMP “Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of WORSHIP.”
Believers participate in specific acts of worship whenever we celebrate God’s worthiness and greatness by giving honor and glory to His name. Worship can be expressed in words, shouts, singing, bowing down, raising hands, and many other ways.
Psalms 95:1-3 AMP encourages us, “O come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with songs. For the Lord is a great God And a great King above all gods,”
Humans were created to worship God, in His love for us He wants a relationship with us. The created to worship the Creator.
Ephesians 1:3-6 AMP says “Blessed and worthy of praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ, just as [in His love]
He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight.
In love He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will— to the praise of His glorious grace and favor, which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved [His Son, Jesus Christ].”
God is the object of our worship. He alone is worthy of worship. Worshipping God means crediting to Him the absolute worth that He alone deserves. He is our Creator.
Psalms 96:4-6 AMP tells us “For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are [worthless, lifeless] idols, But the Lord made the heavens is worthy. Splendor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.”
In John 4:23–24, Jesus made it clear that the physical location of our worship is no longer relevant: “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth”
True worship takes place on the inside, within our hearts or spirits, which is the dwelling place of God

NOW LET US PRAY.
Father, we come to Your presence to give all glory and honor that is due You. Lord, You are worthy! You deserve our praises and worship for who You are: Creator, Deliverer, Redeemer, Provider, Protector, Healer, Sustainer, Everlasting God and Lover of our souls. Thank You for the gift of salvation and for Your majesty and sovereignty over all the earth. Lord, we bow before Your holy throne. Manifest Your glory in all our lives. Your name be lifted up above all else, Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name, I have prayed. Amen
