Beloved, in light of the upheaval that surrounds the US election and all the uncertainties going on in this world that we live in. I believe that we should explore the need to trust God for our future.
Even with the best intentions, we have no idea what the next few weeks and months have in store for us. You can be the most meticulous planner in the world, but even those who plan for tomorrow don’t know what tomorrow holds.
Proverbs 27:1 (NKJV) quite rightly warns us by saying, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.” Now I don’t know about you, but I have accepted this as fact. I do not know what tomorrow holds, I don’t even know what the next minute brings.
Personally, I do not know what the future holds. But here’s what I’ll do.
Today, while I still have time, I will put my trust in Jesus.
Today, while I am living, while I am breathing, I will declare Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
Today, while I have strength in my body, while I am of sound mind, I will trust in Jesus Christ!
The reason I do not fear the unknown is because the God I trust is an all-knowing God. He is a God who knows what I will face in the future.
I am holding on to what the Bible says in Psalm 16:8-10:
I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
We all have battles awaiting us in the future. Battles that we know nothing about, but I encourage each one of us to set the Lord always before you.
Over the coming weeks, months, and years, we don’t know what kind of fiery darts the enemy will aim in our direction, so it’s vital that we set the Lord always before us!
Don’t be afraid. Do not be troubled. Do not tremble at the thought of what this year holds for you, or next year. Instead, set the Lord before you.
Put God first and everything else will fall into place! I don’t know how many different ways I can get this message across to you, but do not fear the future, child of God!
Don’t be fearful of what could happen, or what might happen, or even what has happened. Set the Lord always before you, because Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd!
The Lord is working for our good! God cares for us! The Lord is a refuge and a safe place.
When we call on the name of Jesus Christ, He will come to our rescue.
When the righteous cry out, the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all of their troubles.
So trust in the Lord. Remain focused on the Lord, and set the Lord always before you.
NOW LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, we praise You. I praise You, because You know the unknown. You know our beginning from our end. Lord, You are wise in all of Your ways. You are triumphant and mighty.
We declare Your Word, in 1 Corinthians 15:57, which says,
”But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We declare Your Word in Romans 8:37 (NKJV), “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
As a child of the Most High King, I am indeed more than a conqueror through You, Lord Jesus.
You loved me enough to die for my sins and because of Your precious sacrifice, I am more than a conqueror. Sin has no hold over me. Death has no sting.
In Jesus I am more than a conqueror.
Fear is conquered in Your Holy name, Lord.
Anxiety is conquered in Your name, Lord.
Restlessness, a troubled heart, and depression are all conquered by you power.
The devil is conquered in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Lord, You are my strong tower.
You are omnipotent and omnipresent.
There is nothing too difficult for You.
This is why I will set You always before me.
I will always keep my eyes on You Lord Jesus, because with You on my side, I will not be shaken and I will not be moved.
With You on my side, I will not be overcome by the cares of the world.
Lord, with You as my good shepherd, I shall not want. I shall not be in lack.
I will not be lost or abandoned, because You are leading me.
My future is in Your hands, Lord.
My life is in Your hands, Lord.
Jehovah Rapha, You are a healer.
You are a waymaker and I bow before You.
Lord, I give You thanks and praise for the blessings that have been released over my life.
By faith, I give You thanks for all of my victories.
For the battles that await me in the future, I praise You in advance for the victory.
For the struggles that await me in the future, I praise You in advance for the strength to overcome. For the attacks that the enemy has plotted against me,
I praise You in advance for Your protection. I thank You for defending me.
Whatever awaits me in the future, I will not be afraid or fearful. However, I will trust in You, King Jesus.
I will lean not on my own understanding. I will place my faith in a faithful God.
I thank You, Lord, for hearing this prayer.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ I pray,
