~ JESUS IS YOUR…DELIVERER – @everyone
Jesus Christ’s death on the cross paid the price for humanity’s freedom from sin.
The word “deliverer” in Hebrew means “to cause to escape” or “to carry away safely”.
Jesus is Our Deliverer – The idea that God is our deliverer means that God rescues us from danger, trouble, and evil.
The descriptions of temporal deliverance in the Old Testament serve as symbolic representations of the spiritual deliverance from sin which is available only through Christ.
Jesus offers deliverance from mankind’s greatest peril—sin, evil, eternal death and judgment.
There are several examples of deliverance from the God head:
Deliverance from slavery: God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
Deliverance from enemies: God delivered the Israelites from enemies on their way to the Promised Land and from enemies who occupied the land.
Deliverance from trouble: God delivers people from trouble, sickness, and disasters.
How does Jesus deliver us?
Jesus delivers people through His mercy and love.
Jesus delivers people through covenants that bind them to Him.
Jesus delivers people through His Spirit.
Why does Jesus God deliver us?
Jesus delivers people to show His faithfulness
Jesus delivers people to show His love
Jesus delivers people to show His power
Jesus. He hears me. He promises to deliver me.
Psalm 34:17 tells us “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles”.
Psalm 50:15 says “Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me”
Jesus delivers us from so many things:
We are delivered from the evil one
Matthew 6:13: “And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”
We are delivered from our enemies
Psalm 31:15- 16 declares “But I trust in you, O Lord! I declare, “You are my God!” You determine my destiny! Rescue me from the power of my enemies and those who chase me.”
We are delivered from Death:
Psalms 33:18-19 AMP says:
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those who fear Him [and worship Him with awe-inspired reverence and obedience],
On those who hope [confidently] in His compassion and lovingkindness,
To rescue their lives from death And keep them alive in famine.”
He delivers us from the attacks of people
Psalm 18:43 tells us “You have rescued me from the contentions of the people; You have placed me as the head of the nations; A people whom I have not known serve me.”
Jesus delivers us from Fears
Psalm 34:4: “ I sought the Lord [on the authority of His word], and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.“
He delivers us from our troubles, when we cry out.
Psalm 34:17 – 18 declares:
“When the righteous cry [for help], the Lord hears And rescues them from all their distress and troubles.
The Lord is near to the heartbroken And He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin).”
What are you needing deliverance from?
Cry out to Jesus The Deliverer.
He’ll hear you and He promises to deliver you. It may take longer than you expect.
It will include pain and labor, but I can guarantee, when deliverance comes, there will be relief, gratefulness, joy and probably a few tears.
NOW LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, thank You for your sacrifice to save us and deliver us from eternal death and condemnation.
Lord, we give You all the glory praise for your power to deliver us.
I pray that You deliver each one of us needing deliverance from present troubles.
Jesus we trust You to help us when we need and cry out to You.
In Jesus Christ majestic name I pray. Amen
