Beloved, our God is the ultimate source of truth, love and fulfillment of any kind and idolatry is any form of misdirected worship, and lead to spiritual and moral decline.
Anything that takes the place of God in our heart, mind and life is considered an idol.

Proverbs 3:9-10 AMP
โHonor the Lord with your wealth And with the first fruits of all your crops (income); Then your barns will be abundantly filled And your vats will overflow with new wine.โ

We must be careful to not turn the blessings in our life into idols, especially our family members (spouse, children, siblings).
Matthew 6:24 AMP tells usโฆ
โNo one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].โ
Matthew 22:37-39 AMP
โAnd Jesus replied to him, โ โYou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.โ
This is the first and greatest commandment.
The second is like it, โYou shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].โ โ

Merciful God, thank You for being our very true God.
Lord, You are more than enough to be our ultimate source for all that we need.
Holy Spirit, I pray that You remove any idol from our hearts so that we are devoted to You and You alone.
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your sacrifice that secured our relationship with our one true God.
Abide with us at all times, Lord Jesus.
