Hope in God is the CONFIDENT EXPECTATION and TRUST that good will come because of God’s character, that He is inherently good in all His ways.
Beloved, I confess that I personally cannot do life without putting my hope in God. My hope in God is my anchor. It is the reason I am joyful and not in despair.
As a matter of fact, Psalm 42:11 reads;
Why are you in despair, O my soul? Why have you become restless and disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. Some version express the last sentence of this verse as “lifter upper of my countenance“.
In some cases, hope is the antidote for depression which may be due to feeling of hopelessness.
Also, Romans 15:13 says “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.”
To mention a few of the POWER OF HOPE for believers in Christ, we have hope because:
* Of eternal life (1 John 5:13-14) (Titus 3:3-7)
* He is our protector (Psalm 33:20)
* His Word (Psalm 119:114)
* Hoping in God’s unfailing love (Psalm 130:7)
* There is a future hope for you (Proverbs 23:17)
* Your hope will not be cut off (Proverbs 24:14)
* Plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)
* Renewed Strength-Those that hope in the Lord (Isaiah 40:31)
* Hope does not put us to shame (Romans 5:1-5)
* Be joyful in hope (Romans 12:12)
* These three remain: faith, hope, and love (1 Corinthians 13:13)
* Fixing our eyes on what is unseen (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
* The hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)
* Confidence in what we hope for (Hebrews 11:1)
* All who have this hope purify themselves (1 John 3:1-3)
* Hope does not disappoint (Proverbs 23:18)
LET US PRAY
Father, Thank You for the hope that You have made available to us through Jesus Christ. Thank You for empowering us with Your Living hope. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray! Amen
