~ A MEDITATION ON PSALM 107
Beloved, as we meditate on Psalm 107, I would like to call our attention to recognize that this chapter is a vibrant testimony of God’s undying love and miraculous interventions in our lives.
It reassures us that no matter how far we are lost, how deep we are in darkness, or how dire our circumstances are, when we call out to the Lord, He hears and rescues us.
Psalm 107 is an invitation for us to recognize and recount God’s deliverance, stirring in us a spirit of ceaseless thanksgiving.
THE LORD REDEEMS HIS PEOPLE
Psalms 107:2 AMP
βLet the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,β
This verse recounts how God redeems His people from various forms of distress, highlighting His power and mercy. The Hebrew root “ga’al” is used, meaning to redeem or deliver.
THE LORD GATHERS HIS PEOPLE
Psalms 107:3 AMP
βAnd gathered them from the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.β
THE LORD DELIVERS HIS PEOPLE
Psalms 107:6 AMP
βThen they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He rescued them from their distresses.β
THE LORD LEADS HIS PEOPLE
Psalms 107:7 AMP
βHe led them by the straight way, To an inhabited city [where they could establish their homes].β
Psalms 107:30 AMP
βThen they were glad because of the calm, And He guided them to their desired haven (harbor).β
THE LORD SATISFIES HIS PEOPLE
Psalms 107:9 AMP
βFor He satisfies the parched throat, And fills the hungry appetite with what is good.β
THE LORD SAVES HIS PEOPLE
God broke their chains and brought them out of darkness.
Psalms 107:13-14 AMP
βThen they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them from their distresses.
He brought them out of darkness and the deep (deathly) darkness And broke their bonds apart. [Also, read Psalm 68:6; Acts 12:7; 16:26]β
THE LORD HEALS HIS PEOPLE
God heals those who suffer due to their own folly and sin, demonstrating His compassion and willingness to restore.
Psalms 107:20 AMP
βHe sent His word and healed them, And rescued them from their destruction. [2 Kin 20:4, 5; Matt 8:8]β
THE LORD BLESSES HIS PEOPLE
God blesses the people, causing them to multiply and prosper.
Psalms 107:38 AMP
βAlso He blesses them so that they multiply greatly, And He does not let [the number of] their cattle decrease.β

Loving God, I pray that You give us hearts of gratitude, acknowledging Your goodness and faithfulness in our lives.
Powerful Father, I ask You for deliverance for each one of us from current struggles, as we trust in Your power to save us.
Holy Spirit give us divine wisdom to understand and apply the lessons of God’s loving devotion in our daily lives.
Lord Jesus, I pray for increased trust in our God’s sovereignty, especially in uncertain or challenging times.
Lord Jesus, abide with us as we abide in You.
