WHO are the righteous? I am glad you asked.
Google tells me that a righteous person is that person who listen to God’s word and obey. He does not come up with his own rules and thoughts to do things in life. The teachings of Jesus in the gospels is God’s word for us to obey so that we can please God; John 12:49–50.
In Genesis 15:6 we are told that Abraham “believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness”
IMHO, Every believer in Christ is the righteous who will live by faith in Habakuk 2.4. God is righteous—God is right—to justify those who believe in Christ, because of his atoning sacrifice for our sins; God has paid the price for our ransom (Rom 3.21-26). Christ is the righteousness from God (1 Cor 1.30)
Jesus Christ is our righteousness, we have no righteousness of our own.
PSALM 18:15-22 AMP tells us that:
* The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous [those with moral courage and spiritual integrity] And His ears are open to their cry.
* The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
* When the righteous cry [for help], the Lord hears And rescues them from all their distress and troubles.
* The Lord is near to the heartbroken And He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin).
* Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the Lord rescues him from them ALL. He keeps all his bones; Not one of them is broken.
* Evil will cause the death of the wicked, And those who hate the righteous will be held guilty and will be condemned.
* The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.

Thank You Jehovah God for hearing and rescuing the righteous.
Father, I pray that You cover us with the righteousness of Jesus Christ as only you can. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen
