Beloved, todayβs devotional is a response to a question that many of us may have asked or intended to ask at a point in time in our Christian walk.
1 Thessaloniansβ¬ β5β¬:β17β¬-β18β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ tells us;
β be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.β
I heard a brother-in-Christ answer this question spiritedly! Here are his answers which reads like a poem. They will encourage you.

You pray until something happens. you pray!
You pray until you realize that you are not carrying it alone. God is ALWAYS with you.
You pray until what once felt heavy feels lighter in His presence.
You pray until you remember whoβs in control.
You pray until you are not afraid anymore and then you pray and pray some more.
You pray until the tears turn into trust because sometimes prayer starts with pain, but it ends with peace. God sees your tears, but heβs also shaping your strength.
You pray until your faith gets louder than your fear.
You keep showing up and pray until what you believe drowns out what youβre scared of you. You Pray!
You pray until your mind stops racing, until you rest in the Savior, because His word reminded you to be still and know that I am God.
You pray until you stop begging and you start believing because youβre not just pleading with the distant God, youβre standing on the promises of a present Father. You pray!
You pray until obedience becomes more important than outcome because prayer doesnβt just change things. It changes you, It aligns your will with His.
You pray until gratitude breaks through grief, until you start to see that even in your loss Heβs still good, even in your waiting, Heβs still working.
You pray until bitterness turns into forgiveness because His mercy doesnβt just cover your sin it heals your wounds. You let Him do surgery on your heart.
You pray until anxiety loses itβs grip. Even if it comes back tomorrow, you pray again because peace is not a one time event, Itβs a daily pursuit.
You pray until hope feels real again even if your situation hasnβt changed, he is still the God who can bring dead things back to life.
You pray until you can say not my will but Yours be done because the goal of prayer isnβt control, It is surrender.
Prayer isnβt a one time fix itβs a lifestyle of anchoring yourself to the peace of God on purpose .
So no, donβt stop because it didnβt work in one moment you keep praying because prayer does work.
