Beloved, I am lead to share these scriptures because us believers, are constantly in a battle whether we like it or not. Therefore, it is wise for us to arm ourselves with the sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God.
Scriptures for spiritual battles and overcoming the flesh focus on relying on the Spirit, using God’s armor, and resisting evil.
These verses highlight that the real fight is spiritual, not against people, and that victory comes through Christ’s power by putting on God’s truth, righteousness, and protection.
WHEN WE FEEL TEMPTED
We must remind ourselves that temptation cannot overtake us.
1 Corinthians 10:13 AMP tells us…
“No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].”
WHEN WE FEEL WEAK
We must remind ourselves of God’s promises that His strength is sufficient for us
2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP tells us…
“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”
WHEN WE WANT TO GIVE IN TO OUR FLESH
When our fleshly desires seems to be overwhelming
Galatians 5:16-17 AMP encourages us…
“But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do.”
WHEN WE FEEL CONDEMNED AFTER FAILING
Romans 8:1 AMP tells us…
“Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. [John 3:18]”
WHEN WE WANT TO RESIST THE DEVIL
James 4:7 AMP encourage us…
“So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.”
WHEN WE ARE BATTLING THOUGHTS OR CRAVINGS
Romans 12:2 AMP encourages us to…
“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].”
WHEN WE WANT TO STAND IN GOD’S STRENGTH
Ephesians 6:10-11 AMP tells us..
“In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.”
WHEN WE FEEL OVERWHELMED
Isaiah 43:2 AMP promises us that God is with us no matter what we are going through.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.”
WHEN WE NEED SPIRITUAL WEAPONS
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 AMP
“For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ,”

NOW LET US PRAY
