Prayer – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi Oshinowo

*JESUS, ON HOW TO PRAY*

✝️In Matthew 6:9-15 AMP, Jesus taught His disciples how to pray;

“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. ‘Give us this day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors [letting go of both the wrong and the resentment]. ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]’ For if you forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger with the result that it interferes with your relationship with God], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses.”

💥In the verses above , The Lord Jesus Christ teaches His disciples about the essentials and the elements of *P-R-A-Y-E-R.*

👉🏾P-RAISING God

*verse 9, (PURSUING Him PRIVATELY in worship)

This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”

👉🏾R-ECOGNIZING God’s will

*verse 10, (asking to KEEP His KINGDOM here on earth)

“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

👉🏾A-SKING for God’s provision

“Give us today our daily bread.”

👉🏾Y-EARNING for God’s forgiveness

*verses 12 (SOLICITING God’s forgiveness and STRENGTH to forgive others)

“Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”

👉🏾E-SCAPE from temptation

*verse 13, (praying not to FALL to into sin and FREEDOM from Satan)

“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

👉🏾R-EASON to forgive others

*verses 14-15 (the RULE of RECIPROCITY)

“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

💥The Lord Jesus Christ assures us that God the Father hears and cares about every prayer we offer to Him. The right way to pray is by being fully dependent on Him.

*NOW LET US PRAY*

Father, thank You for the gift of PRAYER, which allows us to communicate with You and build a relationship with You. Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice on the cross at Calvary, which afforded us the privilege of prayer. Lord, give us the grace to pray fervently and follow the pattern that You laid out for us. Jesus, abide with us and heal those among us who are hurting. Heal all our pain and brokenness. In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen 🙏🏾

Have a blessed day ❤️
