Peace That Only God Gives – 2 – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi Oshinowo

~ JESUS IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE

💥The idea that Jesus is the Prince of Peace comes out of the Old testament book of Isaiah.

✝️ In Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭AMP‬‬ we have the promise that tells us “ For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. There shall be no end to the increase of His government and of peace, [He shall rule] on the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From that time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.

‭‭

💥In a world filled with war and violence, it’s difficult to see how Jesus could be the all-powerful God who acts in human history and be the embodiment of peace. But physical safety and political harmony don’t necessarily reflect the kind of peace He’s talking about (John 14:27).

💥Peace is often used in reference to an appearance of calm and tranquility of individuals, groups, and nations. But the deeper, more foundational meaning of peace is “the spiritual harmony brought about by an individual’s restoration with God.”

💥In our sinful state, we are enemies with God (Romans 5:10). “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we are restored to a relationship of peace with God (Romans 5:1). This is the deep, abiding peace between our hearts and our Creator that cannot be taken away (John 10:27–28) and the ultimate fulfillment of Christ’s work as “Prince of Peace.”

✝️ Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭AMP‬‬ “Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).”

‭‭

💥Christ’s sacrifice provides more for us than eternal peace; it also allows us to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, the Helper who promises to guide us. Further, the Holy Spirit will manifest Himself in us by having us live in ways we couldn’t possibly live on our own, including filling our lives with love, joy, and peace (Galatians 5:22–23).

✝️ Jesus said in John‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭AMP‬‬, “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you].”

‭‭

✝️ Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭AMP‬‬ “But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

‭‭

💥This love, joy, and peace are all results of the Holy Spirit working in the life of a believer. They are reflections of His presence in us. And, although their deepest, most vital result is to have us live in love, joy, and peace with God, they can’t help but to spill over into our relationships with people.

💥Believers owe the peace that we enjoy to Jesus Christ, the PRINCE OF PEACE. To which I say, thank You. Jesus!

NOW LET US PRAY

Jehovah God, thank You for the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit that come to live in us when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Thank You Holy Spirit for giving us the peace that transcends all understanding.(Philippians 4:7). Lord, glory to Your Holy name for the blessings of peace through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen 🙏🏾

Have a blessed day ❤️
