Beloved, I would like to remind you that time is relatively short on this side of heaven. Life on earth is short. We only have a set number of days on this earth.
We are reminded of this truth in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 that:
“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—
A time to be born and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
A time to kill and a time to heal;
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
A time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.
A time to search and a time to give up as lost;
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear apart and a time to sew together;
A time to keep silent and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.”
There is a time for everything on this earth. Nothing on this side of heaven lasts forever.
Good times don’t last forever, but the joy of the Lord is our strength when we believe in Jesus Christ.
Equally, bad times, tough times don’t last forever, because the Word of God has promised us that joy comes in the morning.
So with this in mind, our message is simple.
Don’t wait until it’s too late.
Don’t wait until there is not enough time. While you’re still breathing, while you’re still able-bodied, while you still can. Repent! Repent and live for God.
While you still can, pray without ceasing.
While you still have time, seek Jesus Christ with all of your energy, with all of your might.
While you still can, call on God’s amazing power to help you to overcome your sinful struggles.
Call on the Holy Spirit to transform your heart and defeat everything that tries to place itself above God in your life.
While you still have time, fight the good fight of faith wholeheartedly.
Life is short, eternity lasts forever, and we need to live like it.
The Bible says in Hebrews 12:1 (NIV), “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
The Bible is calling us to strip off every unnecessary weight in our lives. Do away with the sin which tries to ensnare you and keep you bound.
People of God, Jesus Christ is all that matters.
With the time that you have, live with wisdom and make use of today and serve the Lord while you still can.
The hard truth is that our days are numbered, and we must live for God.
So in everything you do, put God first! In the midst of everything you go through, trust God always.
NOW LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, I pray that You teach me to number my days so that I may have a heart of wisdom.
Teach me to live with the fear of the Lord ruling in my heart! Help me to live a life that is led by Godly wisdom.
Your Word in Ezekiel 36:27 (NJV) says, “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” God, we receive Your Spirit.
We receive the Holy Spirit and, according to Your Word, we believe that You will put Your Spirit within us and cause us to walk in Your statutes.
Holy Spirit, empower us to walk in holiness.
Holy Spirit, empower us to walk with the eyes of faith. Empower us to walk in alignment with God’s Word. Help us, Holy Spirit, so that we can let go of every sin, every idol, every addiction that weighs us down in our walk with Christ. Help us to let go of bitterness.
Help us to forgive and to let go of any anger and resentment. Give us the grace to live with the attitude that says, “For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain,” according to Your Word in Philippians 1:21 (NIV). Eternity is just around the corner. Help me to live with wisdom, Father.
God, I don’t know the day or the hour that You will call my name to Your throne.
However, I pray that when You do call me, Lord, and when I stand before You, may You find me to be a believer who lives in a manner that pleases You.
With the time that I have here on earth, set my heart ablaze for You and Your kingdom. Don’t allow me to be lukewarm. I have made a decision to follow You, Lord, and so I pray that You will help me to make the best use of the time I have here on earth, because the days are evil.
There is a battle to do right and wrong every day! A battle to live in sin or holiness.
In this relentless battle, help me to never lose sight of You and Your wonderful promises. Help me never to lose sight of what Your Word says in
John 14:1-4 (ESV) that says let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
Lord, I embrace this promise. As I live this life, Father, I want to be found to be in obedience to You, to Your will, to Your authority, to Your kingdom, and to all Your ways.
I surrender my flesh to the will of Jesus Christ. I do not want to be led or attracted to earthly pleasures. Lord, as Your child, give me the mind of Christ where I pursue godliness each and every day. I want to be rooted in Your Word so that I can stand firm against Satan’s schemes.
Lord Jesus, You paid a heavy sacrifice for me on the cross and all thanks and glory be unto You, because I now have victory in this life and it’s all because of You.
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring but, whatever it brings, Jesus is with me.
And in Jesus I have a strong refuge in the day of trouble.
I bless Your holy name, and I thank You for listening to this prayer.
