Making God’s Priorities Your Priorities – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi

💥Beloved, I submit to you that the best approach to doing God’s will is making His priorities, your priorities.

✝️Acts 17.23 AMP tells us “Therefore God overlooked and disregarded the former ages of ignorance; but now He commands all people everywhere to repent [that is, to change their old way of thinking, to regret their past sins, and to seek God’s purpose (priorities ) for their lives],”

💥 In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often forget to put God first. Just think about your average day and the “important” situations that demand your attention…

💥 Sometimes, it can feel like you are being pulled in so many directions that you are coming apart at the seams!

💥 Although these things are essential, they can easily distract us from spending time with God if we do not actively prioritize Him first.

💥 When God is at the top of your priority list, you will give time to Him before other things. You can do this by scheduling your time with Him first and then filling in the rest of your to-do list around it.

💥 For us believers, our relationship with God is the most important of all our relationships, so we must spend time developing it.

💥 God created us, and He knows us intimately. We find our purpose (priorities ) and meaning in Him, for He is the very source of life.

💥 The following verses give us compelling reasons why we should make God’s priorities our priorities each day:

✝️Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭AMP‬‬ tells us
👉🏾”This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.
👉🏾For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’”
‭‭
💥 Only Jesus can sustain us and give us the patience, grace, and strength to live each day for His glory.

✝️”For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him who is the head of all principality and power.”—Colossians 2:9-10

💥 We cannot experience the abundant life God has for us if we do not put Him first and prioritize spending time with Him.

✝️”Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”—1 Peter 5:8.

💥 Our enemy, the devil, is constantly seeking ways to distract us with thoughts of the future.

💥 Since God is your source of strength, Satan will do his best to distract you away from spending time with him. He wants us to be consumed with anxiety and fear.

💥 We must put God first and fill our minds with Scripture to combat the distractions the enemy throws at us.

💥 We must prioritize spending time with God, pursuing Him wholeheartedly, and putting on the armor of God to prepare and defend against the devil’s attacks.

✝️”But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”—Matthew 6:33

✝️Matthew 6:33 promises that God will supply all our needs if we seek His kingdom first. This should comfort believers because if we put Him first, He will help us order the rest of our priorities.

✝️”If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”—John 15:7-8

💥 Have you fervently asked God to help prioritize Your life?

💥 Have you asked Him for guidance and for the courage to do the things that you know need to be done?

💥 If so, then you’re continually inviting your Creator to reveal Himself in a variety of ways. As a follower of Christ, you must do no less.

💥 When you make God’s priorities your priorities, you will receive God’s abundance and His peace.

💥 When you make God a full partner in every aspect of your life, He will lead you along the proper path: His path.

💥 When you allow God to reign over your heart, He will honor you with spiritual blessings that are simply too numerous to count.

💥 So as you plan for the day ahead, make God’s will your ultimate priority. When you do, every other priority will have a tendency to fall neatly into place.
