Today’s devotional stems from thinking and remembering my mother, Mercy, Mofeade, Ademodi, who went to be with the Lord 5 years ago today . My mother left a powerful spiritual legacy that I believe will continue for several generations to come. She was a powerhouse of prayer and a skillful warrior in God’s army.
I read an article a while ago, which I believe had an excellent definition of spiritual legacy(unable to cite). The writer wrote:
A spiritual legacy is the foundation that strengthens our faith, helps us navigate life’s challenges, and guides future generations in their walk with God. Building a spiritual legacy takes time, effort, and intentionality, but it is one of the most important investments we can make in the lives of our loved ones.
Beloved, it is God’s desire for us to leave a spiritual legacy for our family and future generations. We find God’s heart about leaving a spiritual legacy in His message to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 6:4-9.
“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God. The Lord is one [the only God]! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being]. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand (forearm), and they shall be used as bands (frontals, frontlets) on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

LET US PRAY
Father in heaven, thank You for bringing us to this day. Lord, we pray that through Your grace and mercy, we are able to teach and impart a foundation that strengthens our faith and those of our children and loved ones. Lord, we want our lives and the lives of our children and future generations in our family to honor and glorify You. We are unable to do so in our own power. So, father, we lean on You to Lead, guide and direct us and our families to solid spiritual legacies. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen !
Have a blessed day
