I WILL BE A FATHER TO YOU says Almighty God.
Please read the above statement slowly.
Beloved, I don’t know about you, I am humbled and in awe! The God who spoke the entire Universe into existence is telling you and me that He will be our Father in spite of us. OH WHAT JOY!
When we follow Jesus, we are adopted by our heavenly Father. His story of grace becomes a part of our history. Connected by the blood of Jesus and His Holy Spirit, we are grafted into a new family tree, rich in mercy and rooted in love. We are sons and daughters of the Most High. The scripture made this truth known in several ways.
2 Corinthians 6:18 AMP declares “And I will be a Father to you, And you will be My sons and daughters,” Says the Lord Almighty.”
Romans 8:14-16 AMP tells us “ For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God.”
YES! US BELIEVERS ARE CHILDREN OF GOD!
THIS IS OUR IDENTITY!
I invite everyone who has surrendered their lives to Christ to embrace the identity of a child of God. Knowing who we are in Christ is how we overcome the world and anything in it that is ungodly. It is how we defeat Satan’s efforts to kill, steal and destroy everything that God loves.
Next week we will do a series of devotionals on BELIEVERS IDENTITY so that we can all be equipped to bask in the POWER that is available to those who God call His children.
NOW LET US PRAY
Our Father in heaven, thank you for the grace that You have lavished on us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank you for the gift of adoption into Your family as Your children. This is marvelous in our eyes Lord. Lead, guide and direct us to the center of Your will in unearthing the knowledge and power in being called Your children. In Jesus Christ’s most precious name, I pray. Amen
Have a blessed day
