God’s Word tells us…
You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You-in both inclination and characterl, because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation]. (Isaiah 26:3)
I believe that one of the keys to maintaining peace in your life is to take small steps toward peace every day. Here are a few tips for having a more peaceful lifestyle.
Be selective with how you spend your time. You may be trying to do too many things and end up doing none of them well. Hur- rying is trying to do more than the Holy Spirit is leading you to do – slow down and allow yourself to be led by the Holy Spirit.
Set boundaries for yourself and others. Life is full of interruptions, but we can learn to set boundaries that help us manage them in healthy ways instead of letting them control us. Schedule times when you are off-limits. Let your calls go to voice mail, turn off your email, learn to say no, and so on.
Listen for the Holy Spirit. If you can see that your plan is not producing peace, go back to God to find the source of the problem and make changes that will allow you to enjoy a peaceful life.
We must learn to recognize what we allow to settle in our minds. In other words, we must capture our thoughts for Christ so that we do not allow the enemies to steal our peace with His lies.
We must learn to schedule your day wisely and follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance throughout your week. You can become a truly peaceful person.
PRAY ALONG:
Loving God, thank You for giving us one more day in life. We praise You, Lord, for being our peace. Help us to fix our focus on You so that we are not distracted, hence losing our peace. Holy Spirit, abide with us and cover us with Your peace.
In Jesus’ Mighty name, we pray. Amen
Have a blessed day in the Lord
