To be guarded means being cautious or alert.
To be guarded from biblical terms is to keep safe and secure from harm.
The Word of God assures us how to obtain the type of peace that guards our hearts:
In Philippians 4:6-7 AMP, Apostle Paul tells usβ¦
βDo not be anxious or worried about anything,
but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.
And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
Yes, this verses instructed us on how to have the peace that surpasses (transcends) all understanding to stand guard over our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
Also, Jesus Christ promised us in John 14:27 AMP
βPeace I leave with you;
My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]β
This peace is obtained by not being anxious and instead, offering prayers and requests to God with thanksgiving.
When we surrender our anxieties to God through prayer and trust in Him, a divine “garrison” of peace protects your inner self.
Isaiah 26:3 AMP tells usβ¦
βYou will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on Youβin both inclination and character],
Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].β
This verse encourages us to keep our minds steadfast (focused on God), trust and take refuge in Him in order to obtain perfect and constant peace.

Most Holy Lord, we long for our hearts and minds to be guarded by the peace You speak of in Philippians 4:7.
Father, yes, we know that both troubles we cannot anticipate and troubles we’ll not be able to overcome will come in this life. But a peace that is the result of safety and comfort is not the peace that the world show us. Your love for us is greater than this.
Thank You Lord for offering a peace that defies worldly explanations,
A peace unbelievers will see and wonder at,
A peace we will not understand ourselves.
It’s Your peace, God, and it will be a bastion (reinforcement) for our minds and hearts against whatever trouble we face.
You say this peace surpasses all understanding: it is both larger and more inexplicable than we can possibly know. It’s like You, Lord. Thank You for this peace.
Help us to seek this peace as we trust You and not be anxious about anything.
Holy Spirit, help us to cultivate a heart of thanksgiving and present our petitions to You at the throne of grace.
You are not a god conceived by human minds, small enough to hold and turn in our hands and look at from every angle.
You are our God who hold us, and You know us as thoroughly as a potter knows the angles, imperfections, and beauties of every pot he has fashioned.
We praise You for Your largeness and mystery in life and in our lives.
We praise You for the promises You hold out to us in Christ Jesus.
We stand amazed and humbled at who You are and how You stand guard over us at all times .
In the majestic name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen ![]()
Have a blessed day ![]()
