Today is the fifth and last day of the series of daily devotionals throughout this week, to help us explore what pleases God in the life of the believer in Christ.
As a quick reminder, the intent of this series is that we will all have some understanding of what pleases God so that we can align our lives to His desires with the help of His Holy Spirit.
NOW LET US CONTINUE TO EXPLORE WHAT PLEASES GOD.
The Lord delights when His people seek true wisdom. – (Proverbs 2:6-10)
Proverbs 2:6-10 AMP tells us…
“
For the Lord gives [skillful and godly] wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores away sound wisdom for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him];
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage],
He guards the paths of justice; And
He preserves the way of His saints (believers).
Then you will understand righteousness and justice [in every circumstance] And integrity and every good path.
For [skillful and godly] wisdom will enter your heart And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.”
Living in peace with others reflects God’s perfect will. – (Romans 12:18)
Romans 12:18-19 AMP
“If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness];
for it is written [in Scripture], “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.”
Also, God, speaking through Moses to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 32:35-36 AMP said…
“Vengeance is Mine, and retribution,
In due time their foot will slip;
For the day of their disaster is at hand, And their doom hurries to meet them.’
“For the Lord will vindicate His people, And will have compassion on His servants,
When He sees that their strength (hand) is gone, And none remains, whether bond or free.”
Speaking truth in love honors God and edifies others. –
Ephesians 4:15 AMP encourages…
“But speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth],
let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ.”
Bearing fruit through faith glorifies and pleases the Father.
Jesus said in John 15:7-8 AMP…
“If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.
My Father is glorified and honored by this, when you bear much fruit, and prove yourselves to be My [true] disciples.”
Enduring trials faithfully brings God’s approval and blessing.
James 1:12 AMP
“Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted;
for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
NOW LET US PRAY
Most Holy God, thank You for another day of life.
Fathers, thank You for helping us to read and understand what pleases You from Your Word throughout this week.
Lord, thank You for opening the eyes of our minds to discern what true pleases You.
Holy Spirit, thank You reveal all that pleases You to us in Your own way.
Lord, thank You for leading, guiding and directing us into the center of Your will and desires.
Lord Jesus, thank You for strengthening our resolves to seek and know what pleases You.
Thank You for helping us to dear Lord to identify Your desires and adjust our lives to align with Your will.
Holy Spirit, thank You for empowering us to do what pleases You in our lives, so that You are glorified.
Abide with us at all times Lord Jesus.
