We are told in Isaiah 58: 13-14 that
If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then
You will find your joy in the Lord, and
I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land and
I will cause you to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Also, Isaiah 56:2 tells us that
Blessed(happy, fortunate) is the man who does this, And the son of man who takes hold of it, Who keeps the Sabbath without profaning it, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.””
LET US PRAY
Holy God, thank You for Sabbath. Thank You for a day of rest in our week. Help us to keep the sabbath in worshiping You in truth and love. Abide with us today and throughout this week. In Jesus’mighty name, I pray. Amen
