Beloved, the Bible assures us that no matter what we are going through right now, our loving God will NEVER abandon us. He is faithful to fulfill His promises.
Let us explore some of these promises:

Deuteronomy 31:6, 8 NLT encouragesβ¦
βSo be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.β
βDo not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.ββ
Lamentations 3:31-33 NLT also declaresβ¦
βFor no one is abandoned by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love. For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.β

Hebrews 13:5 assures usβ¦
βFor He has said, βI will never leave you nor forsake you.ββ
Itβs powerful and necessary to view Scripture in its context to glimpse a fuller picture of Godβs heart for us.
Verses 5-6 in their entirety read:
βKeep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for He has said, βI will never leave you nor forsake you.β So we can confidently say, βThe LORD is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?ββ
We can live contended lives characterized by deep satisfaction in the One who meets every need.
When we feel lacking or without, we can press deeper into the presence of God, recognizing that He is our helper and we have no need to fear.
Verse 8 continues with this assurance,
βJesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.β
We can trust the One who has provided for creation since the beginning of time because He is unchanging.

Because we know Godβs character is unchanging, we can glean truth from His promises to the Israelite people.
Although His words to them were unique, they reflect His care and love for all of His children.
In Isaiah 43:2, God promised the Israelitesβ¦
βWhen you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.β
No matter the difficulties weβre walking through now or will endure in the coming days, God goes with us into every challenge.
He does not step away nor merely cheer us on from the sideline. He enters the flood and fire and walks us through to the other side.
Psalm 46:1 promisesβ¦
βGod is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.β
It would have been sufficient to say, βGod is with us in trouble.β Instead, the Psalmist chose to emphasize just how near God is. He used the word βvery,β or (meh-odeβ) in the Hebrew language meaning βexceedingly,β βmightily,β and βdiligently.β
Godβs mighty presence is exceedingly near. He is diligently bringing us through our hardships and challenges.

After Jesus taught, served, died sacrificially, and was risen to new life, He returned to the Fatherβs side in heaven. Yet He did not leave those who had followed Him for several years on earth without hope.
Jesus assured them in Matthew 28:20β¦
βI am with you always, to the end of the age.β
They might have felt Godβs presence had left them in the following days. They had been by Jesusβ side for a few years, stared into His eyes as He taught, and sat beside Him at meals. Now He was physically away from them. Yet Jesus left them with the promise of His presence.
Earlier, He had told them of a coming Helper β One who would remind them of all Jesusβ teachings.
John 14:25-26 saysβ¦
βThese things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.β
Jesus did not leave His disciples alone in the world, and He never leaves us on our own.
His very Spirit, who knows the heart of God and intercedes for our lives, is within us.
If you feel God has abandoned you or stepped away, take heart. Consider the disciples after Jesus left the earth.
We are not left alone but kept safe in Godβs presence and guided by His Spirit.

Holy God, thank You for Your promises to never forsake nor abandon us.
Father, I know that You will never allow anything to come into our lives that is not ultimately for our good and for Your glory.
Lord even when we are hurting and trouble surround us, still , we know Your character. You are kind, caring, and merciful. We are certain You will never abandon us and will always love us.
Lord Jesus, we are thankful that a day will come when you erase all our tears; you have promised it. Glory to Your holy name.
Holy Spirit, abide with us at all times as you promised to surround us like a shield.
In Jesus Christβs most powerful name I pray. Amen
Have a blessed day
