~GOD WILL HELP YOU FIGHT YOUR BATTLES
It is important for us to know that everyone created and loved by God have life battles to deal with. This is simply because we have an enemy in Satan who hates everyone and everything God loves.
However, God promised us that He will fight our battles for us.
In the Bible we read time after time again on how God arose in His might and fought for His people, the Israelites, the nation of Judah, to name a few.
When Moses was leading the Israelites out of their enslavement in Egypt. They had the red sea in front of them and the Egyptian army chasing after them. Moses encouraged the Israelites…
Exodus 14:13-14 AMP tells us…
“Then Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid! Take your stand [be firm and confident and undismayed] and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today; for those Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see again.
The Lord will fight for you while you [only need to] keep silent and remain calm.”
God showed His might and fought the battle for His people by parting the red sea for the Israelites to walk through on dry land and He drowned the Egyptian army in the red sea.
God helped the nation of Judah defeat their neighboring enemies when King Jehosaphat gathered his people and cried out to God for help.
2 Chronicles 20:4-6, 9, 12, 15, 17 AMP
So [the people of] Judah gathered together to seek help from the Lord; indeed they came from all the cities of Judah to seek the Lord [longing for Him with all their heart].
Then King Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord in front of the new courtyard, and said:
”O Lord, God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven?
And do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations?
Power and might are in Your hand, there is no one able to take a stand against You.
”If evil comes on us, or the sword of judgment, or plague, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for Your Name and Your Presence is in this house) and we will cry out to You in our distress, and You will hear and save us.’
Oh our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless against this great multitude which is coming against us.
We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
He said, “Listen carefully, all [you people of] Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat. The Lord says this to you:
”Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
You need not fight in this battle; take your positions, stand and witness the salvation of the Lord who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.’ ”
God caused Judah’s enemies to destroy one another without God’s people lifting a hand. All they did was cry out to Him for help and they praised and worship Him.
Like the Israelites and people of Judah, God will fight our battles when we cry out to Him in humility and lift His name up in praise and worship.
Personally, I have watched God in His glory and might fight my battles over and over in my life. Even battles that I did not know existed. For this I am eternally grateful.
NOW LET US PRAY
Jehovah God, I marvel at how You rise up to defend and fight battles for those of us who put our trust in You. You, God are Mighty in battles. Lord, help us to put our faith and trust in Your power and ability to take on our battles and all we have to do is stand still to watch Your deliverance.
Father, I pray that You fight the battles for our children, spouses and loved ones for Your glory and Your glory alone!
Surround us with Your presence and crush the enemy under our feet, according to Your Word in Luke 10:19. Lord, my heart is filled with gratitude for battles won and the battles that You will fight for us. In Jesus Christ’s majestic name, I pray. Amen
