~ GOD WILL HELP YOU WHEN YOU ARE SICK
There are several people among us who are dealing with one sickness or another. Sickness is the byproduct of living in a sin-sick world. However, God in His love, grace, and mercy wants us to be well. On the other hand, Satan, the enemy of our souls, delights in our afflictions.
We are children of God because of Jesus because we believe in His sacrifice, which He made on the cross of Calvary. Jesus paid the price on the cross for sins and for sickness and disease. He took them both into His own body and died once and for all removing sin and sickness from those who believe.
Galatians 3:26-27 AMP tells us “For you [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified and] are all children of God [set apart for His purpose with full rights and privileges] through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union with the Christ, the Anointed] have clothed yourselves with Christ [that is, you have taken on His characteristics and values].”
Healing is as much part of God’s plan for us, as is salvation. Healing is a basic right of every child of God. Healing is the children’s bread.
In Mark 5:26-28, we read about the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years. She had heard about Jesus, and she had faith that she would be healed if only she could touch Jesus Christ. Jesus, however, was surrounded by a large crowd of people. She proceeded to extend her arm through the crowd, Her mindset was, “If only I can touch Him.” This is FAITH!
Then she made the move and received her miraculous healing.
What’s important is not the form of her effort but the fact that she made the effort.
She did something. She added action to her faith
She refused to settle for sickness another day and resolved to make a move.
The message for us in this story is that:
Healing begins when we do something.
Healing begins when we reach out to the Lord.
Healing starts when we take a step of faith.
God’s help is near and always available when we are sick, but it is given only to those who seek it. The great work in this story is the mighty healing that occurred. But the great truth is that the healing began with her touch.
With that small, courageous gesture, she experienced Jesus’ tender power. “Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, ‘Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well? And the woman was made well from that hour” (Matthew 9:22).
If you think your faith is not strong enough but needs the healing power of Christ, perhaps you could rely on the faith of a friend or family. This is the same type of faith Jesus witnessed when he saw a man being lowered through a hole by his family in the roof where Jesus was teaching one day (Mark 2:1-12).
Whether he was born paralyzed or became paralyzed, we don’t know, but the end result was the same: total dependence on others. Perhaps someone had to wash his face and bathe his body. He couldn’t go on a walk or run an errand on his own.
Another healing episode is detailed in Matthew 15:22-28 of a Canaanite woman whose daughter was sick with demonic spirits. Jesus’ disciples wanted to send her away. She cried out!
Matthew 15:25 AMP tells “But she came and began to kneel down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
“Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in My power] is great; it will be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that moment.”
Matthew 15:28 AMP
Personally, I am one of those who seek the face of my Lord and cry out for help, asking Him to heal my broken body on a daily basis. He has been faithful to heal me as only He can, according to His will. Daily, I submit myself, mind, body, and soul to His will. His will, not mine, be done.
*NOW LET US PRAY*
Mighty God, I know that You are my healer. You are the miracle worker. You can heal every sickness and disease. The Bible says You can raise the dead to life. Father. I confess You have the power to heal those among us who seek Your help for healing. Lord, we trust You with our sicknesses and bro-kenness. Help us, Lord, to believe in your healing powers.
Strengthen our faith in You, Your power to heal us, and Your love for us. Give us the courage to reach out to friends and family for help if we need to. I pray that each one of us will encounter the healing powers of our Lord Jesus. I believe You are able, Lord, make me well. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen .
Have a blessed day
