God Wants Us to Be Free – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi Oshinowo

Christians have freedom over sin and darkness when we follow Christ.

One of the ways that God express His love for humanity is to set us FREE! Free from anything that the enemy of our souls uses to bind us from being who God created us to be. In reality, we are:

🎈Free from sins

🎈Free from any bondage from the enemy

🎈Free to manifest who God created us to be, in His image.

🎈Free enjoy God’s blessings in our lives

🎈Free to glorify God with our lives

It is because of sacrifice and battles, both physical and spiritual, that we can experience the gift of freedom today. For a Country, such freedom is referred to as Independence.

Let us meditate on some verses about freedom in Christ Jesus. Let’s take time to remember that we have been blessed.

✝️ In John 8:34-36, “Jesus answered, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, everyone who practices sin habitually is a slave of sin. Now the slave does not remain in a household forever; the son [of the master] does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free indeed.”

Even though God in His mercy and grace has extended freedom to us through the gift of salvation in Jesus Christ, we must not misuse God’s freedom nor take it for granted to engage in wrongdoings, therefore sin against Him.

✝️ Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭AMP‬‬ says…

“For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another. For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is fulfilled in one precept, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].”

✝️ We are also admonished in Leviticus 19:18 that “You shall not take revenge nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor (acquaintance, associate, companion) as yourself; I am the Lord. [Matt 5:43-46; Rom 12:17, 19]”

✝️ Finally, Galatians 5:1 tells us “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

LET US PRAY

Gracious Father, thank You for the gift of freedom. Thank You for deliverance from any and all bondage that the enemy of our souls launches against us. Help us to be free so that we can be free indeed. Help us to be considerate towards our neighbors.

Lord, I pray that You would fight the battles for freedom in our countries, so that we may enjoy true Independence. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen 🙏🏾

Have a blessed day🎈
