The Word of God tells us in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV) that
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
God, in His faithfulness, has promised to protect us from the evil one.
On this topic of God’s protection, I believe that, because God works in ways that we may not understand, His protection will not always be obvious to the naked eye.
Of course, God protects us in the physical as well as the spiritual. However, I also believe that sometimes God’s protection comes in the form of peace and strength in the middle of despair and chaos.
Other times, God’s protection can even come in the form of one door closing in our lives because He sees something beyond the horizon that we cannot see.
At times, God protects us by not giving us what we want because the very thing that we desire, could prove to be a stumbling block when it comes to our faith and growth as a believer, in the long run.
The bottom line is that the Lord is faithful. He is so faithful that He neither sleeps nor slumbers, because He is watching over us. God is so faithful that even the very hairs on your head are all numbered.
He is so faithful that before you were formed in your mother’s womb… He knew you.
Revelation 5:5 (NIV), which reads: Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
When the bible says “Do not weep…” we’re being told to stop worrying. Do not be discouraged because Jesus Christ has come out on top! The Lion of the tribe of Judah has prevailed.
Jesus Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed, He has mastered all things, He has won all battles, He is in command and He is victorious, and He will reign forever and ever.
When we think of protection, we ought to know who protects us. We must be aware of the might and power that the Lord has. It’s in Jesus Christ that we have our protection.
NOW LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your faithfulness. I thank You for Your divine protection. You are the God who defends us. You are the God who fights for us. You are the God who goes before us and surrounds us.
Your Word, in Psalm 125: 1-2 (ESV) says, ” Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.”
We look to You, Father, because You are our defence.
We pray that You will protect us in every storm and, if it is Your will, that I should endure any storm, then we pray that You would give us the grace and strength necessary to overcome.
Lord, we pray and we ask that You will protect us from the enemy so that he may never steal our joy or strength. Protect us, Father, and help us to guard our thoughts so that they may never be out of control and sinful.
Let Your peace rule in our heart, and we pray that Your angels encamp around us and around our home.
My God Jehovah, if You are my refuge, if You are my fortress, if You are for me, then who can be against me? All that I can ever need and desire can surely be found in You; a God who has proved himself throughout the ages to be neither weak nor mortal.
You are the Almighty one, and I can safely place my life in Your capable hands because I know that, in You, I will not be disappointed.
I praise You Lord, because no one can challenge You. You are without equal. You are unrivalled and unmatched.
I declare and decree Deuteronomy 28:6 over my life and say that, I will be blessed in my coming in and blessed in my going out, because you watch over me.
I declare Psalm 91:10 over my life and my family, and I say that no harm will overtake me, no disaster will come near my tent. No evil shall befall me, nor shall any plague come near my dwelling, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
I stand today in faith, covered by the power that’s in the blood of Jesus Christ.
I stand today concealed and wrapped by the blood of Jesus Christ which is miraculous and able to defeat all evil. I stand shielded and protected by the Holy Ghost.
You, Lord Jesus, are the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and I pray that You will defeat every demon from hell that is sent by the enemy to try and attack me.
I pray that You will destroy every generational curse and every negative word spoken against me, in the mighty name of Jesus.
I pray that Your presence will always surround me, Lord.
Thank You for all of the goodness that You offer. I will continually place my trust in You.
Help me not to lean on my own understanding, because You are an all-knowing God, so my trust is in You.
I bless Your name, Lord Jesus. Thank You for Your wonderful love. I thank You for Your kindness, and I thank You for Your protection.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
