Beloved, today let us get a quick review of what God has promised us for life and godliness in His Word. We find these in 2 Peter 1:3-4
For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness…
God promised His divine power…the power that spoke the universe into existence is made available to us for everything we need for a dynamic spiritual life and godliness. To which everything in me want to shout “Hallelujah to His holy name”.
…through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
Let us read the last verse again, because this is how we get the promise. By having a “true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence”. We get the personal knowledge of Him by spending time in His Word, getting to know Him more and more every day.
…For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.
As we get to know Him, we are able to escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world with all the disreputable desires. Instead, we become sharers of the divine nature. This calls for another “Hallelujah!” to be honest with you.
LET US PRAY
Holy God, we come to give You our highest praise with our “Hallelujah” Thank You, Lord, for giving us everything we need for life and godliness through a saving knowledge of You as we share in Your divine nature.
Father, abide with us as always and shield us and our family from the influence and attacks of the wicked ones. In Jesus most precious name I pray. Amen
