~ WALKING WITH JESUS ON A DAILY BASIS
Beloved, when we genuinely turn our hearts toward the face of God, we feel the sense that He is inviting us to walk with Him. And that’s precisely the path that we must follow.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 9:23
“And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple],
he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests],
and take up his cross DAILY[expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come]
and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].” – Luke 9:23 AMP
If we want to walk on the path that God has planned for us, then Jesus admonished us to “take up our cross DAILY”
HOW THEN DO WE TAKE UP OUR CROSS on a daily basis?
We need to Identify ourself with Christ – To know where we are going we have to know who we are.
If we have not done so, we must accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior ( with a relationship with God through surrendering our life to Jesus Christ)
We need to live our lives In obedience to God’s Word. Submit our whole self to God and trust Him.
James 4:7-8 tells us to:
”Submit yourselves, then, to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Come near to God and He will come near to you
Proverbs 3:5-6 says:
”Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him,
And He will make your paths straight and smooth
We need to pray and spend time with God on a daily basis.
Romans 12:2 tells us:
”Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will so that you know the voice of the Holy Spirit”
The Holy Spirit is our gift from the Lord.
We must ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the path that we are to take to us, then listen and obey
John 10:14-15; 27 says:
”I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
When we ask the Holy Spirit to reveal something to us, He will, and we have to listen.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 advices us:
Do not quench [subdue, or be unresponsive to the working and guidance of] the [Holy] Spirit.
We must remember that God has a plan for our lives and it’s up to us to walk in His ways so we can fulfill it.
We must never allow the enemy knock us off track and distract us from all that God has planned for us and the path He has laid out for us as we walk with Him.
NOW LET US PRAY
Lord, life can be difficult sometimes, and we are unable to see the path that we are to take in our lives.
But even when it seems there is no hope for the future, You, Lord are always with us. And we can live courageously because we know that Your path leads us to a place where we can accomplish Your kingdom’s work.
Thank You for always being with us and loving us enough.
Holy Spirit, I pray that You show us the paths that we should go .
Father wherever You lead, we will follow.
