Our Lord Jesus Christ defeated the enemy of our souls on the cross at Calvary. The power of resurrection has given us eternal victory over the enemy. If you are a believer in Christ you are already victorious.
This article by Rashawn Copeland speaks to this issue:
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
—1 Corinthians 10:13
It is the enemies chief objective to snatch the seed of truth from your heart by sending dull- distracting thoughts. First, be encourage to know that the enemy considers you a valuable Christian enough to pray over… Be thankful about being an untouchable target.
The difference between a Christian and a non-Christian is: though they both may have good and evil thoughts, Christ gives His followers strength to select the right rather than the wrong. You see a man going to prayer meeting with a Bible under his arm. That man was undoubtedly tempted to stay at home, go to a leadership club, or to some other activity. But, as these scattered-diverse thoughts came to his mind, he made the right selection, and headed for the church to serve, love, and be build up himself and the Lord’s people through fellowship.
Another man walks expectantly through the flashy light downtown during a gloomy night seeking to find his perfect position in a bar next to a star. Not even the slightest doubt has crossed his mind that it would have been wise for him to have stayed home with his wife and children. The chief problem is that he yielded to the negative thought, and gave in to his fleshly appetite.
A Thought to Ponder
Lord unto you I depend to keep me pure. Allow your Spirit to use every part of my body to honor you.
Decisions will have to be made each day, Lord. With Your strength and wisdom, help me to make the right ones
