Let use explore the evidence that we are truly children of God.
The mark of a true child of God is not perfection—it is a life led by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:14-15 AMP
“For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons and daughters of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “Abba! Father!””
He guides our decisions, shapes our character through His transformation, strengthens us in times of weakness, and leads us into God’s will.
When we follow the Spirit, we walk in wisdom instead of confusion, peace instead of fear, and purpose instead of aimlessness.
A TRUE CHILD OF GOD SUBMITS TO THE GUIDANCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
When we submit Or surrender ourselves to the Spirit of the Living God, He directs our steps into His perfect will.
He guides our decisions through divine wisdom.
PROVERBS 3:5-6 AMP encourages us…
“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”
A TRUE CHILD OF GOD IS A TRANSFORMED PERSON
The Holy Spirit shapes our character through His transformation.
He shapes our hearts and renews our minds.
ROMANS 12:2 AMP Instructs us
“And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes],
so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].”
A TRUE CHILD OF GOD IS AN EMPOWERED PERSON
The Holy Spirit strengthens and empowers us to live for God’s glory.
We walk consistently in the Spirit.
We stay focused on God and not the distractions that surround us.
GALATIANS 5:16 AMP encourages…
“But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts].”
A TRUE CHILD OF GOD CHOOSE TO LISTEN. CHOOSE TO FOLLOW HIM
The safest path in life is the one led by the Spirit of God.
Led by the Spirit.
Loved by the Father.
Living as His child.
God is faithful to His children. We can trust Him.
NOW LET US PRAY
Most Holy God, thank You for this day in our lives.
Thank You Lord, for watching over us throughout this week.
Lord help us to walk like you true children as we surrender to the Holy Spirit.
This weekend, let us choose to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit above every other voice.
Father, continue to transform us into the likeness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lord, continue to order our steps in Your plan for our lives.
Lord Jesus, cover us with the blood of Jesus Christ and protect us, protect our children, and everyone in our household from the wickedness of the wicked.
Holy Spirit, help us to walk in Your path.
