Brothers and sisters, I would list to share a very POWERFUL skill that we need whenever we are going through trials and suffering.
This is a skill that we MUST develop is we are to persevere and endure through trials and hardship. It is the ability for us to keep our FOCUS ON THE CHARACTER OF OUR GOD, who does NOT change.
We must be alert and recognize that Satan, The enemy of our souls will bombard our minds with his lies about God, especially in our suffering. We must not doubt that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He promise to do.
When Job was going through “hell on earth” he kept his focus on God and he TRUSTED GOD. He said in Job 13:15 that “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him. Even so, I will defend my own ways before Him”
Also, when the Psalmist was going through a very difficult time , David said in Psalm 73 : 26, 28
“My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the rock and strength of my heart and my portion forever. But as for me, it is good for me to draw near to God; I have made the Lord God my refuge and placed my trust in Him, That I may tell of all Your works.”
Some of God’s characters that we must hold on to, to help us persevere are:
* GOD LOVES US (Jeremiah 31:3)
* GOD DOES NOT LIE (Numbers 23:19)
* GOD IS WITH US, even to the end of the ages (Matthew 28:20)
* GOD WILL FIGHT OUR BATTLE (Exodus 14:14)
* GOD IS EVER FAITHFUL ( Deuteronomy 7:9)
LET US PRAY
Faithful God, We pray that You help us to fix our focus on You and You alone in the mist of suffering and trials. Help us to TRUST You that You will deliver, heal and restore us. Fight our battles, Lord as only You can. Put our adversaries to shame. Our victory is in You Jesus. We need You. In Jesus matchless name I pray.
