~ IN A DISCOURAGING WORLD.
Beloved, all we have to do nowadays is listen to the news. We would hear and see things that could:
Rob us of joy and peace
Bring confusion, disillusion, and fear.
Sometimes, there are conflicts and broken relationships with family, colleagues and friends that leave us in sadness and emotional pain.
Thankfully, the Word of God is filled with antidotes for such discouragements for those of us who believe in the Word of God.
In fact Jesus warned and promised us in John 16:33 AMP:
”I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace.
In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering,
but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy];
I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]”
As believers, we’re encouraged to rejoice in the Lord always, even when things seem tough.
Also Apostle Paul encourages us in Philippians 4: 4-5 AMP
”Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice!
Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near.”
When we experience people who are mean and wicked towards us; people who cause us pain.
The Psalmist, encourages us in Psalms 37:1-3 AMP
”Do not worry because of evildoers, Nor be envious toward wrongdoers;
For they will wither quickly like the grass, And fade like the green herb.
Trust [rely on and have confidence] in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and feed [securely] on His faithfulness.”
We can trust in God’s sovereignty and strength, knowing that He will deliver us from all our troubles.
Psalms 34:19 AMP encourages us that;
”Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the Lord rescues him from them all.”
Even when we face challenges like sickness, rejection, or financial problems, we can be confident that God is working everything out for our good and His glory.
Romans 8:28 AMP encourage us;
”And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.”
By standing on God’s promises and obeying His word, we can tap into His divine power and receive His provisions, deliverance, and protection (Isaiah 48:10-11).
Isaiah 48:10-11 AMP promise to refine us from the furnace of affliction.
””Indeed, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested and chosen you in the furnace of affliction.
”For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it [I refrain and do not completely destroy you];
For how can My Name be defiled and profaned [as it would if My chosen people were completely destroyed]?
And I will not give My glory to another [by permitting the worshipers of idols to triumph over you].”
We must create a mindset of gratitude and prayer, casting our worries and concerns on God, and trusting in His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).
Philippians 4:6-7 AMP encourages us:
”Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.
”And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].”
Last but not the least, Jesus promises in John 14:27 AMP that;
”Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]”
