In the Old Testament, a PROPHECY was given through prophet Isaiah.
Isaiah 7:14 AMP tells usβ¦
βTherefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Listen carefully, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will call his name Emmanuel (which means, βGod with usβ).β
We read about the FULFILLMENT of the prophecy in
Matthew 1:23 AMP, which tells usβ¦
ββBehold, the virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuelββwhich, when translated, means, βGod with us.ββ
This name signifies Jesus’s presence and the wonder of God becoming human, fulfilling ancient prophecy.

Matthew uses this Old Testament prophecy from Isaiah to show that Jesus is the promised Messiah, Emmanuel, the divine presence of God among humanity.
INCARNATION: It highlights the wonder of the Incarnation, where God took on human flesh to dwell with His people.
We might be tempted to view Godβs presence as fickle or fleeting, perhaps tied to our actions or behaviors.
However, Scripture makes it plain that Godβs presence is far more steadfast than we can fathom. From before time began, He desired to be near to us.
Grace would come to us through Jesus Christ.
In John 1:14, we see the βGod with usβ promise fulfilled,
βThe Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.β
βThe Word became fleshβ¦full of grace and truth.β
In a humble, holy infant lying in a manger, weβre reminded Godβs plans always prevail. Not only that, but from eternity past, He has pursued us.
The βGod with usβ promise encompasses far more than a 700-year timespan. Godβs plan and promise to be near us stretches from before time began and into eternity.

Most holy God, thank You for the prophecy and the fulfillment of Your presence with us as Emmanuel.
Thank You for the perfect plan of always being with us.
Abide with us at all times Jesus.
In the matchless name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen ![]()
Have a blessed day ![]()
