~ 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐎𝐁𝐄𝐘 𝐆𝐎𝐃.

Beloved, I submit to you that God in His love for us, His creation, gave His commands to protect us from any and all things that could harm us. They are like guardrails for our lives.

We must not forget that we have an enemy in Satan, whose main goal is to kill, steal and destroy anything God has blessed us with. (John 10:10). Along with living in a sin-sick world.

This is why we need the knowledge and wisdom of God, in His commands to help us navigate the treacherous terrain of life.

In fact we are warned in Hosea 4:6 AMP…

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will].

Because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being My priest.

Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.”

𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐋𝐘!

I am sure that none of us want God to forget our children.

Although not a comprehensive list, Other consequences include:

𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒

Hardening of the heart,

Separation from God’s presence, and

A loss of spiritual vitality

Isaiah 59:1-2 AMP also warns us…

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short That it cannot save, Nor His ear so impaired That it cannot hear.

But your wickedness has separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”

These verses are warning us that when we ignore God’s commands(which the bible likens to wickedness)

We will not “see” God, nor “hear” Him.

Hebrews 3:12-13 AMP warns…

“Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart] that turns away from the living God.

But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication].”

𝐏𝐇𝐘𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒

Broken relationships,

Financial difficulties and

Physical ailments

Hebrews 12:5-7 AMP encourages…

“and you have forgotten the divine word of encouragement which is addressed to you as sons,

“My son, do not make light of the discipline of the Lord, And do not lose heart and give up when you are corrected by Him;

For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves, And He punishes every son whom He receives and welcomes [to His heart].”

You must submit to [correction for the purpose of] discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?” (Also, read Deuteronomy 28).

𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒

Missed opportunities for growth and fulfillment in life, when we ignore God’s commands.

Psalms 66:18 AMP tells us…

“If I regard sin(iniquity) and baseness in my heart [that is, if I know it is there and do nothing about it], The Lord will not hear [me];

𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐒𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐋𝐘!

Also, Romans 1:28 AMP states…

“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things which are improper and repulsive,”

𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 (leading to judgment)

Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:37-38 AMP…

“If anyone thinks and claims that he is a prophet [a true spokesman for God] or spiritually astute [filled with and energized by the Holy Spirit], let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment.

If anyone does not recognize this [that it is a command of the Lord], he is not recognized [by God].”

In a nutshell, Ignoring God’s commands can be dangerous due to the potential for negative consequences, both in the present life and in the afterlife; it can result in missing out blessings and opportunities that obedience would have brought.

𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐋𝐄𝐓 𝐔𝐒 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐘

Most Sovereign God, thank You for loving us enough to give us Your commands to protect and guide us.

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your sacrifice to cleanse us from any sin of ignoring God’s commands.

Holy Spirit, we need You, to lead, guide and direct us to obey God’s commands.

Thank You Lord Jesus for abiding with us at all times. We honor and adore You.
