Sometimes as believers we find ourselves timid to approach God in prayer for whatever reasons. We assume that because of mis-steps in our Christian walk, we are not welcome to approach Him.
I submit to you beloved that such thinking is from Satan, the enemy of our souls who does not want us to have a relationship with God. The truth is that God loves us so much that He invites us to come CONFIDENTLY to his throne of grace to obtain mercy for whatever mis-steps or sin that may have our lives. This truth is stated in Hebrews 4:16 :
Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]
As sons and daughters of the Living God, we can always have an audience with our good Father. There is never a moment where we need to shrink back or distance ourselves from him. In every season, in every circumstance, he is our ready help and deliverer. Even when we make a mess of our lives, he is ready to help us reconcile and rebuild.
There is endless mercy in God’s presence. Why, then, would we stay away? We need not punish ourselves. If God is willing to throw our offenses into the sea of forgetfulness when we come to him, why would we try to dig them up ourselves? Let us come to him with fresh confidence today, looking to Jesus. There is mercy and grace to meet us.
LET US PRAY
Merciful Father, thank You for Your love and mercy toward us. Thank You for inviting us to approach Your throne of grace with confidence to obtain much needed mercy on this side of heaven. Help us to remember who You are and who we are in Christ. Refresh our hearts and minds in your peace and wisdom. In Jesus’ mighty I pray. Amen
Have a blessed day
