Beloved, the Bible tells us several times that God uses our brokenness to bless us for his glory.
Also, before God blesses us He, a perfect God, in order to help us grow, desires to remove impurities from our lives before showering us with his blessings.
God often breaks things in us before blessing us to make us more receptive to His blessings and conforms us to His image.
In todayβs devotional we will focus on those things (spiritual impurities) that God wants to remove from my lives before he can thoroughly bless us with his best. οΏΌ
Such Impurities while not comprehensive, include;
πππ πππππ – in order to lead us to humility
We cannot function as TRUE followers of Christ if we hold on to our pride. Pride is the essence of Satan, which was why he was thrown out of heaven.
(James 4:6).
In Jamesβ¬ β4β¬:β6β¬-β7β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬. We are toldβ¦
β But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says,
God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].β [Prov 3:34]
So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.β

πππ ππππ -ππππππππ – so that we do not miss out on God’s power and guidance(2 Corinthians 1:8-9).
God wants us to rely (depend) on Him in all situation so that we can build an intimate relationship with Him. He loves us like that!
ββ2 Corinthiansβ¬ β1β¬:β8β¬-β9β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ says;
β For we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about our trouble in [the west coast province of] Asia [Minor], how we were utterly weighed down, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life [itself]. Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the sentence of death [and were convinced that we would die, but this happened] so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.β
πππ πππππππππ πππππππππππππ πππ ππππππ- in order to build a life in line with His will(Proverbs 28:13).
Proverbsβ¬ β28β¬:β13β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ declares;
β He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But whoever confesses and turns away from his sins will find compassion and mercy. [Ps 32:3, 5; 1 John 1:8-10]β

πππ ππππ- to understand and follow God’s will (Psalms 28:7, 51:17).
Psalmsβ¬ β28β¬:β7β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ says;
β The Lord is my strength and my [impenetrable] shield; My heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him.β

πππ π πππ -to step into His purpose and experience His blessings(2 Timothy 1:7).
2 Timothyβ¬ β1β¬:β7β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ says;
β For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].β

πππ ππππππππππππ – in order to be more willing to listen and obey Him(Ezekiel 36:26-27).
Ezekielβ¬ β36β¬:β26β¬-β27β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ promised
β Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them.β
πππ πππ πππ πππππππππ ππππππ – to restore us (Psalms 51:10, Ephesians 4:19).
Psalmsβ¬ β51β¬:β10β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ says;
β Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a right and steadfast spirit within me.β

God’s breaking are often painful and challenging but are parts of God’s refining process, leading to growth, transformation, and a deeper connection with Him.
ββ1 Peterβ¬ β5β¬:β10β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ tells usβ¦
βAfter you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be].β

Holy God, we confess all our brokenness to You and You alone.
Father, we pray that You would take away all our brokenness and use them to draw us closer to You, Lord.
We pray that You help us to discern those things that are broken in us, and help us overcome them through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Abide with us and our loved ones at all times. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen
