Built on Mount Zion and surrounded by the mountains, Jerusalem was an impregneable fortress.
The pilgrims felt safe when they arrived there after their dangerous journey.
As a citizen of the heavenly Zion, we are safe in the Lord’s care.
Psalmsβ¬ β125β¬:β1β¬-β2β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ tells us thatβ¦
οΈβThose who trust in and rely on the Lord [with confident expectation] Are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever.β

Biblical sovereignty over our lives means that God has supreme authority and control over all things concerning us.
It means that nothing happens in our lives without God’s direction or permission, and His purposes are never thwarted.
This includes both direct actions and allowing events to unfold within His overarching plan.
This is powerful in the life of every believer in Christ.
When we bow down to the God who holds the righteous scepter, even the wickedness in our world will not succeed in tempting us to do wrong.
This will encourage us to trust and be submitted to Him.
Psalmsβ¬ β125β¬:β3β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ tells usβ¦
οΈβ For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land of the righteous, So that the righteous will not reach out their hands to do wrong.β

Biblical sanctity is when a believer is set apart for Godβs use.
It begins with a believer is separation from sin and the world, and dedicated to God.
It is a recognition that believers are no longer their own, but belong to God, having been purchased by Christ.
This setting apart is a gift of grace, not something earned by us, the believer.
Sanctity is a third result of trusting the Lord. When you walk by faith, you avoid the dangerous detours that lead you away from the path of righteousness.
God has made you safe that you might be submitted, and your submission should lead to separated living: “Faith without works is dead” (Read James 2:20)
Psalmsβ¬ β125β¬:β4β¬-β5β¬ βAMPβ¬β¬ tells usβ¦
οΈβ Do good, O Lord, to those who are good And to those who are upright in their hearts.
But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways [in unresponsiveness to God], The Lord will lead them away with those who do evil.
Peace be upon Israel.β
