As believers in Christ, the promises in God’s Word for those who TRUST in the Lord are worth knowing, memorizing, and praying because doing so will drastically change the trajectory of our Christian walk.
We are told in Psalms 125:1-4 that “Those who trust in and rely on the Lord [with confident expectation] Are like Mount Zion, which can not be moved but remains forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So the Lord surrounds His people From this time forth and forever. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land of the righteous, So that the righteous will not reach out their hands to do wrong. Do good, O Lord, to those who are good and to those who are upright in their hearts.”
Psalm 32:10 Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.
Psalm 22:5 To you, they cried out and were saved; in you, they trusted and were not put to shame.
Psalm 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song, I praise him.
Psalm 52:8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever.
Psalm 112:7 They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
These talk of his love, his salvation, keeping us from shame, giving us help and strength, flourishing in his presence and love, and stopping fear are powerful benefits of trusting God!
Personally, these benefits have made me stronger in my trust and my approach to life, through thick and thin. I have flourished in His presence and under His unfailing love. No matter what is going on in my life, God never withdraws His presence nor His benefits. For these, I am eternally grateful.
LET US PRAY
Faithful God, we thank You because You are worthy of our trust. Thank You for loving us and giving us hope in the promises to those who trust You. Glory to Your Name for loving us so.
Abide with us today, Lord. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen
