~ YOU ARE SINLESS (no longer a slave to sin)
It is a given, that when we do not know our rights as an employee, then injustices can be done to us by employers and other employees. This is true as well with us and our rights and identity as a Christian. When we do not know our inheritances as a child of God, we live in a manner that is lacking.
To be honest, most believers would not consider themselves as sinless. To me, living a life free of sin was impossible.
My understanding was that we were all sinners saved by grace. My understanding was that we all sinned and each time we did, if we repented, things were fine.
I had no idea that you could possibly live a life free of sin until I had the opportunity to meditate and studied that the Word of God is very clear about this specific identity of the believer in Christ.
1 John 3:9 AMP tells us that “No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God’s seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again—who is reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him.”
Let us highlight the key truth in the verse above. “…he who is born again cannot habitually live a life characterized by sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him”
The Holy Spirit in us believers causes us not to have any desire to sin.
Also, 1 John 5:18-20 AMP declares “We know [with confidence] that anyone born of God does not habitually sin; but He (Jesus) who was born of God [carefully] keeps and protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know [for a fact] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] lies in the power of the evil one [opposing God and His precepts]. And we [have seen and] know [by personal experience] that the Son of God has [actually] come [to this world], and has given us understanding and insight so that we may [progressively and personally] know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”
We must believe that our identity is that WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN. This is only possible through the Holy Spirit in us.
Romans 6:1-7 AMP says “What shall we say [to all this]? Should we continue in sin and practice sin as a habit so that [God’s gift of] grace may increase and overflow? Certainly not! How can we, the very ones who died to sin, continue to live in it any longer? Or are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways]. For if we have become one with Him [permanently united] in the likeness of His death, we will also certainly be [one with Him and share fully] in the likeness of His resurrection. We know that our old self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. For the person who has died [with Christ] has been freed from [the power of] sin.”
NOW LET US PRAY
Holy God, we praise and thank You for making us Your own thereby giving us the power of the Holy Spirit to remove the desire to sin from our hearts. Thank You that we are no longer slaves to sin. We are Your children. Glory hallelujah! In Jesus ‘mighty name I pray. Amen
Have a blessed day
