~ YOU ARE CHOSEN, ROYAL, HOLY and SPECIAL.
I don’t know about you, but being chosen and made royal by God is pretty awesome.
It fills me with such delight to know that before time began, I was chosen and predestined to become a son of God. I am so pleased and thankful that I am saved. And to lay hold of the truth that God chose me before the very foundation of the world is mind blowing to say the least.
Ephesians 1:4-5 AMP tells us that “just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight.
In love He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will—”
God not only CHOSE us, but lwe have already discussed in previous devotional in this series, He made a way and gave us the power to become holy and without blame in this world.
I hope you are excited as I am that you were chosen? The joy that fills my heart to know that my loving Father chose me before he created the world in which we live on is amazing.
As mentioned before, 1 Peter 2:9-10 AMP “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
This verse is full of wonder.
You are part of a chosen generation.
We have been chosen by God to be His ambassadors here on earth. We represent Him until Jesus returns.
We are royalty and we are priests.
We are co-heirs with Christ. We are royalty,
There is no reason to be arrogant and pompous about being chosen by God, but it presents an opportunity to humble ourselves in His presence and worship Him for such consideration.
How then do we respond to a God who chose us to be His?
We respond with loving Him, honoring Him and living our lives as God’s chosen people. We are to be Christ like in our attitude and behavior.
NOW LET US PRAY
Father, thank You for choosing us. For making us co-heirs with Your son. Lord, I pray that You would give us the grace needed to live our lives as chosen people, and be able to honor You with our lives. Help us Holy Spirit to empower us to function as Your ambassadors here on earth. Abide with us and protect us
Lord. In Jesus Christ’s majestic name I pray. Amen
