There are situations in life that will break us if we do not hold on to the word of God.
The problems of life can be overwhelming when we try and tackle them with our own strength and resources.
As believers, the trials and challenges we face in life can really only be won when we have accepted that in our weakness, God’s strength is magnified.
However, you may be asking the question, “How do I gain hope and strength in God when the trouble before me is so real, when it’s so painful?
How do I continue to truly hope in the Lord and be strengthened by the Lord, when my burdens are so heavy and when they are so many?
Thankfully, the Bible is filled with promises that serve to inspire, strengthen, and give us hope.
In God’s word, we can find promises that will shine a light into what is seemingly a dark situation.
Some of the key scriptures to remember, meditate, and dwell on when things are difficult are:
Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
Philippians 4:7 (NIV) “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV) “for we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Psalm 23:5-6 (NKJV) “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV) “So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Psalm 28:7 (NIV) “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”
NOW LET US PRAY
Holy God, I pray that You will give us the grace to rise up each day and live a life that is pleasing to You.
Give us the strength, Father God, to fight against the temptations and forces of this world.
Holy Spirit, You are welcome. We invite You into our hearts.
We invite You into our day.
I pray that You strengthen my faith. When the tests and trials of this life begin to feel overwhelming, remind me that I have a friend “who sticks closer than a brother,” according to Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV).
In You, King Jesus, I have safe refuge. I am kept, sustained and led by You, Lord. You are my rescue in my hour of need, and I am grateful because Your love is stronger and purer than anything on this earth.
Father, when my problems are many and they seek to overwhelm me, I pray that the Holy Spirit will remind me that I serve a living God who is more than able to carry my burdens.
I know that You are an all-powerful God. There is nothing that is too difficult for You. Lord, I praise You for Your consistency. You are the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. You still move mountains, and You still cause walls to fall.
There is nothing too big for You, and I rejoice because of your might and power.
I pray that other people will look at my life and see Your goodness. I pray that they see Your mercy and Your power.
I pray that unbelievers in this world see Your miraculous hand when they see me, Father. May they see Your love for someone who was lost but is now found. I pray that they see Your forgiveness for a sinner such as me.
I pray that they see Your divine strength in my weakness.
I pray that every lost soul I encounter sees evidence of a merciful God, a God who has amazing grace that saved a wretch like me.
Psalm 32:7 (ESV) says, “You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance.”
I praise You for such a promise. A promise that gives me hope and strength despite the battles I face.
Your Word says in Luke 10:19 (NKJV), “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
I thank You, King Jesus, for this authority that You have given me to overcome all the power of the enemy.
I stand and declare that nothing will harm me. Nothing will harm my loved ones and my family, in Jesus’ name.
The devil has no authority over my home. He has no say over my future or my family. He has no power over my health in Jesus’ name.
I trust in You, Jehovah. I say that You are my refuge. You are the Chief cornerstone. I choose to trust in the true and living God.
Help me not to fear but to trust You.
Help me not to be discouraged but to have joy in You.
Help me not to take Your goodness and kindness for granted.
I declare my faith in Your ability to fulfil Your promises to me. You will fight for me and win the battles in my life. You are mighty, powerful, righteous, and true.
Father, the Bible tells me that my words are powerful and that the tongue can speak life or death. Lord, I declare that I am strong and courageous in the Lord. I pray and declare that I am protected by the blood of King Jesus Christ.
I have nothing to fear because the Lord is by my side.
I have nothing to fear because God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
I declare that nothing will destroy me.
I will not be crushed by any challenge I face.
will not be destroyed by any situation or burden.
I stand in faith, as I look to King Jesus Christ, my Savior, my help, a stronghold in the day of trouble.
I bless and honor Your Holy name Lord Jesus, In the majestic name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen
