Beloved, let us explore more of our Lord’s attributes, so we can know Him more.
The more we know Him, the more our relationships with Him is deepened. Such knowledge helps us to build intimacy with our Lord. Which is His desire.
THE LORD REFLECTS THE POWER OF GOD
1 Corinthians 1:24 AMP declares:
”but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks (Gentiles), Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.”
THE LORD IS MY BREAD OF LIFE
Jesus said in John 6:35 AMP:
”Jesus replied to them, “I am the Bread of Life. The one who comes to Me will never be hungry, and the one who believes in Me [as Savior] will never be thirsty [for that one will be sustained spiritually].”
THE LORD IS MY FORTRESS
The Psalmist declared in Psalms 18:2 AMP:
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me; My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold.”
THE LORD IS MY REFUGE FROM THE STORM
Isaiah 25:4 AMP says of our Lord:
”For You have been a stronghold for the helpless,
A stronghold for the poor in his distress,
A shelter from the storm, a shade from the heat; For the breath of tyrants Is like a rainstorm against a wall.”
THE LORD IS MY EVERLASTING FATHER
Isaiah 9:6 AMP declares:
”For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
THE LORD IS THE AUTHOR OF MY FAITH
Hebrews 12:2 AMP
”[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].”
THE LORD IS MY COUNSELOR
The Psalmist says in Psalms 16:7 AMP:
” I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; Indeed, my heart (mind) instructs me in the night.”
THE LORD IS MY HEALER
Malachi 4:2-3 AMP encourages us:
”But for you who fear My name [with awe-filled reverence] the sun of righteousness will rise with HEALING in its wings. And you will go forward and leap [joyfully] like calves [released] from the stall.
You will trample the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” says the Lord of hosts.”
THE LORD IS MY SHIELD
Psalms 33:20-21 AMP says:
”We wait [expectantly] for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For in Him our heart rejoices, Because we trust [lean on, rely on, and are confident] in His holy name.”
THE LORD IS MY PEACE
Ephesians 2:14 AMP assures us:
”For He Himself is our peace and our bond of unity.
He who made both groups—[Jews and Gentiles]—into one body and broke down the barrier, the dividing wall [of spiritual antagonism between us],”
NOW LET US PRAY
Lord Jesus, thank You for revealing Yourself to us in Your attributes.
Thank You Lord for being our peace, our healer, our shield, our counselor, the author of our faith, everlasting Father, our fortress, our refuge from the storm, and our bread of life.
Lord, You are more than enough for us.
For all these we honor and adore You, loving Lord.
Father, surround us at all times with Your presence.
